For the tenth year in a row, EGT Solar has been recognized as a top solar installer in Solar Power World’s Top Solar Contractors List. The 2026 list was unveiled this week, and is the 15th anniversary edition of the solar industry’s most recognized annual listing of solar and energy storage installation companies in the United States.
Companies on the Top Solar Contractors List are grouped and listed by specific service, market, and states by 2025 installed capacity (in kWDC).
EGT Solar installed 3.119 MW of solar power in 2025, increasing our number of installed kilowatts by 150 percent over the previous year. We are ranked at No. 266 in the nation, and are the only Southwest Idaho-based installer on the 2026 list.
Top Solar Contractor Recognition a Win for EGT and for Idaho
It’s an honor for us to be recognized as a top solar contractor in Idaho, and to have done so for ten consecutive years is a huge accomplishment, not just for our company, but for our entire state. And we know we wouldn’t be here without the confidence and support of our customers who also understand the importance of divesting from the major utility companies to generate power right from their own rooftops.
2026 is proving to be a milestone year for the renewable energy industry, with the U.S. recently surpassing six million individual solar installations, and solar regularly the most-installed source of new electricity in the country. Based on these numbers, one thing is clear: despite policy and supply hurdles, the U.S. solar market shows no signs of slowing down.
And it’s fair to say that solar professionals are veteran members of the energy industry. That experience is reflected in the 2026 Top Solar Contractors List, with over 72 percent of listees having at least 10 years’ experience in solar — 58 percent have more than 15 years’ experience in solar, storage and energy construction. EGT Solar has installed residential and commercial solar in Idaho for 16 years.
A few notable commercial projects EGT has completed over the past year include the Caldwell Executive Airport, Whittier Elementary School, and Bogus Basin Ski Resort’s Rental Shop.

“Well-run companies are those that can adapt to a changing industry,” said Billy Ludt, managing editor of Solar Power World. “And we believe the 2026 Top Solar Contractors List features the strongest names in solar development, construction and installation.”
Resilience Amid Solar Industry Changes
Although our industry has certainly seen its share of changes, we have weathered them all — and we plan to continue serving Idaho long into the future. Our priority has always been an education-first sales approach, while keeping residents’ money in our state and advocating for clean energy policy. This is an ethos that our clients appreciate and has served our company well.
While the top five states for installations in 2026 matched last year (California, Illinois, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania), less populated states like Idaho also remain viable for rooftop solar.
As population growth continues surging in Idaho, demand for electricity is increasing. More people moving to our region means more strain on the grid, more frequent utility disruptions, and rising energy costs — which are only expected to increase. Rooftop solar and battery storage are a beneficial investment for homeowners and business owners who are looking to reduce their dependence on outside energy sources and create more long-term stability.
Even as our industry and our state continue to change and grow, we plan to continue empowering our community with energy alternatives, helping homeowners and business owners get relief from rising energy costs.
